Position: RQ06324 - Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Junior
MUST:
Demonstrated experience in using HPQC/ALM and TFS together for testing progress documentation. Demonstrated experience testing for WCAG compliance using screen readers (JAWS) and HiCompliance Sheriff tool. Previous public sector experience in an organization of equivalent size and complexity to the Ontario Public Service.
Responsibilities:
Provide advice on testing strategy, plans, tool selection, and resource identification. Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in GUI and non-GUI environments, including system integration, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (., stress tests). Develop test plans, scripts, and cases, executing them against various components. Collaborate with testing lead, IT lead, and project team members in analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support.
General
Skills:
Plan, organize, and implement testing efforts. Utilize structured methodologies for application development and knowledge of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
Experience with automated test tools and version control systems on multiple platforms. Execute functional, non-functional, and systems integration tests, supporting user acceptance testing. Desirable
Skills:
Proficiency in at least one programming language. Knowledge of information retrieval packages and testing methods in an object-oriented environment. Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA). Knowledge Transfer:
Transfer knowledge through 1-on-1 sessions, emails, document updates, and reviews. Store deliverables in designated repositories and regularly inform project manager and staff of documentation location. Conduct a minimum of one walkthrough of all documentation during final knowledge transfer. Experience and Skill Set
Requirements:
QA Skills Working knowledge of Software Testing processes. Demonstrated experience with manual and automated testing. Proficiency in writing test scripts, cases, and scenarios, testing web applications, and reporting defects. Experience in collaborating with technical teams, business analysts, and business teams to identify solution gaps. Experience supporting investigation of production defects and testing hotfixes. Technical Skills Experience using HPQC/ALM and TFS to document, track, and record testing progress.
Proficiency in SQL, databases, and XML. Understanding of AODA and experience testing for WCAG compliance in web applications using screen readers (JAWS) and HiCompliance Sheriff tool.
Experience with desktop tools (Visio, MS Office, MS Project, MS Outlook). Experience in testing reports and system enhancements.
Experience with Test Automation tools, including Quick Test Pro v10.0, UFT, Compliance Sherriff, Web Accessibility Toolkit, and HP Quality Center.
Experience with reporting in Azure Dev Ops. General Skills Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
