Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Google Cloud Engineer located in Chicago, IL. The Google Cloud Engineer will be responsible for software development, infrastructure, cloud computing, Linux, and databases. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and services. It also involves writing and deploying code for GCP-based systems, and ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of GCP resources.
Qualifications
• Strong skills in software development, infrastructure, and cloud computing
• Experience with Linux and databases
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud platforms
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python, Java, or Go)
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration (preferably Docker and Kubernetes)
• Experience with DevOps practices and tooling (preferably GitOps, Jenkins, and Terraform)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect) would be beneficial
