We are actively looking for a Big-Data Cloud Developer (senior) to join our team in Montreal and you will work for our client, an international investment bank.
Mission
As a Big Data Cloud Expert, you'll join a global central team spanning Montréal and Paris, responsible for the Data Lake platform on Microsoft Azure. Within this team, you'll serve as the primary contact for the AMER region, supporting teams across various business lines.
This Data Lake platform utilizes a combination of Open-Source technologies like Spark and Kafka, alongside Azure-specific tools such as Azure Storage, HDI, AKS, and others. This platform is crafted for self-service, emphasizing automation to uphold security compliance in our regulated environment while ensuring stability for essential business operations.
Your role will consist of contributing to platform design, implementation, and ongoing production support. Additionally, you will contribute your expertise to projects that integrate with the platform. In this context, your proficiency in both Big Data and Azure technologies, combined with a solid understanding of performance and security principles, is crucial.
Day-to-day responsibilities
• Identify and anticipate future needs and enhancements, working with the team to design solutions for validation.
• Conduct testing and assessment of new Azure technologies, collaborating with security and Microsoft teams to ensure their availability in our secure environment.
• Play a role in implementing solutions, establishing automation, and implementing monitoring processes to create a stable self-service offering.
• Deliver training to team members and guide other teams in the implementation of their Big Data projects.
• Participate in production support, including overtime as needed, and communicate incidents with our AMER users.

Skills and responsibilities
Required skills
• 7+ years of experience in Java development and architecture, specializing in constructing multi-threaded applications, APIs, and services within an Agile framework.
• You possess substantial expertise in leveraging Big Data technologies, including Hadoop, Kafka, and/or Apache Oozie.
• Your skill set includes a solid understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, such as Azure Storage or AKS.
• Proficient in working with Apache Spark.
• Experienced in Linux bash scripting.
• Demonstrating over 2 years of hands-on experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, you are well-versed in modern DevOps tools and workflows like git, GitHub, Jira, Docker, and Jenkins.
• 3+ years of experience in agile development (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and Test Automation (behavior, unit, integration testing).
• Your background includes prior experience with Oracle SQL or PostgreSQL or a similar RDBMS
