Deep Learning Engineer – (Grad / Junior / Mid) Computer Vision | Deep Learning | Machine Learning Melbourne or Brisbane Permanent Role (Hybrid Remote) Our client is a world leader in the development of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence software based solutions for the Defence and Surveillance industries. They have a strong research and development focus in the areas of unmanned vehicles and intelligent surveillance, with an emphasis on creating commercial applications with real-time, real-world performance. For the last 20 years our client has been specialising in the creation of comprehensive autonomous detection solutions for electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) video, which are designed to quickly and reliably detect small, hard-to-see, moving objects. Our client’s technology is known for its ability to detect objects efficiently in challenging environments where traditional vision systems may struggle. By utilising advanced optical sensors and intelligent algorithms, our client’s solution enhances the capabilities of surveillance and monitoring systems, enabling them to detect and track objects with high accuracy and precision. Our client is looking for talented Engineers (Grad to Mid level) with a background in computer vision, image processing and deep learning to work on new and innovative algorithms and products. You should have the following experience: • Application of Deep Learning methods to solve Computer Vision problems • Understanding of using convolutional neural networks in at least one of the following domains: object detection, image classification, object tracking, image segmentation, instance segmentation or adversarial attack • Experience in implementing novel deep learning network architectures and training using existing frameworks (TensorFlow, Caffe2, PyTorch or similar) • The completion of an appropriate Computer Science or Engineering degree • Python development experience (For the creation of the models) Knowledge of the following is of benefit: • Understanding of two or more latest deep learning network methods designed for computer vision and image processing – eg: Attention Mechanisms and Transformers • C++ development experience (For the Deployment of the models) • Experience in training deep neural networks using multiple computational nodes • Experience in training deep neural networks from the scratch using ImageNet data • Experience in deploying deep neural networks on edge devices • Computer vision algorithms with an emphasis on real-time performance Our client provides: • Flexible working hours. • Fun, good-natured working environment with mentorships to grow your technical skills • Shared ideas, projects, and responsibilities. • A mixture of rapid-development research projects and stable commercial releases.
