Firm Profile:
Frisenda Architects is a small firm with locations in NYC & The Hudson Valley. We are growing quickly and we are looking for a talented, creative and organized individual to join the team. The ideal candidate is someone who has strong technical and creative skills, is independent and self-motivated, and has a collaborative work ethic. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial.
Position: Intermediate Architect
We would like to develop a long-term relationship with an individual to help throughout the year working as an independent contractor with potential to grow into a full time position.
This is a fully remote position on a part-time basis. Some travel may be required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Hard working, energetic attitude with an aptitude to inject fun into the work.
• Understand project requirements and the development of design concepts.
• Produce client presentations.
• Develop architectural drawings and documents, including design and zoning feasibility studies, existing conditions documentation and construction drawings.
• Create renders and models
• Self-motivated; must take ownership of assignments until complete, working to deadlines
• Coordinate project work with colleagues and consultants, make field visits, prepare specifications, assist in construction administration.
Qualifications
• Someone with strong ideas, desire to learn and and a commitment to architecture and design
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• Minimum of 5 years of architectural design experience
• Lives and works in New York area in or near NYC / Hudson Valley
• Ability to work from own location and individually
• Must have an intermediate knowledge of construction detailing, materials, and methods, building systems and building code requirements
• Experience in concept design through design development and construction documentation
• Excellent writing and communications skills
• Strong conceptual, graphic and design aptitude with great team skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be well organized
• A strong working knowledge of Revit and Adobe Suite required, proficiency in AutoCAD, Enscape, Sketch-up, Rhino, 3DS Studio Max or V-Ray a plus
