The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Innovative Mind.
It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred almost 1400 technologies to the industries and been granted more than 1000 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the demand analysis and detailed design of software related to energy storage converter and controller
• Responsible for control strategy research and simulation verification of control algorithms
• Responsible for software development, debugging and improvement (including BMS communication, battery capacity algorithm, control logic design, communication interface and display interface development)
• Integrate operating system, electrical, hardware and other aspects for systematic development and verification
• Write relevant software technical reports according to the development process
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor degree or above, major in electronics, communication, computer, automation and other related fields (those with practical ability are not limited to majors)
• Possess a solid basic knowledge of automatic control, signal processing, circuit theory, data structure and algorithm, and a good mathematical foundation
• Experience in software design related to photovoltaic inverters, PCS energy storage converters, PWM rectifiers, etc., familiar with EMS and BMS, proficient in C/C++ and embedded software development process
• Have the development experience of product control systems such as inverters, converters or UPS, and be familiar with control methods and control algorithms
• Familiar with the upper computer programming software and understand the software development of serial port, CAN and Ethernet
• Possess good programming style and documentation ability, good communication and presentation skills
• Be able to read and understand English technical materials skillfully, with strong learning ability, and can learn and master new technologies quickly
• Based in Shenzhen

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical coverage and social contribution. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
