Job Description
We are seeking aBlockchain Technology Specialistwho will become part of a new team here at Anglo American that looks across the business and identifies business problems where blockchain can add value, be that in provenance, trading, digital assets, or identity.
You will be a fundamental team member that brings a curiosity and passion for learning and will be responsible for development and implementation of web3/blockchain solutions as well as looking after the administration of nodes connected to mainnet and testnet chains.
You will have access to all levels of leadership across the business and will need to be able to translate the technical world into business speak one minute, and then debate the finer points of Istanbul Byzantine Fault Tolerant the next.
Core Responsibilities (amongst others):
• Employ an innovative approach to design and implement bespoke blockchain solutions that cater to specific business needs and challenges.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate blockchain technology into existing processes, enhancing transparency and security.
• Develop and deploy blockchain technology solutions for an implementation within Anglo American.
• Undertake the responsibility of maintaining and optimising blockchain networks, ensuring their continued efficiency and effectiveness.
• Remain continuously informed about the latest advancements and trends in blockchain technology, enabling AA to leverage the most cutting-edge solutions.
• Support with specialised guidance and expertise on various blockchain projects, supporting the team's collective efforts to harness the potential of this transformative technology.
• Build out the infrastructure needed to support the Market facing uses cases, including the core platform, token studio, and custodial wallet.
• Implement the DevOps processes with Marketing IM and Digital teams to allow a coordinated release strategy.
Qualifications
• An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in computer science, business informatics, engineering/technology or equivalent
• Blockchain and Crypto Technologies
• Ability to design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor web and mobile apps, in various coding languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, React Native, DotNet, Java/Spring (Advanced in at least one language stack).
• Knowledge of key user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) principles.
• Understanding of data structures and ingestion of data from enterprise systems
• Understanding database queries and structures; Azure SQL DB / PostgresSQL / NoSQL, Databricks, Azure Data Factory (SSIS) experience are also beneficial.
• Experience with enterprise-style single sign-on (SSO), user authentication and authorisation.
• Product management and product and services delivery and application lifecycle management
• Understanding and experience of delivering solutions with complex interactions across cloud and non-cloud capabilities
• Working with agile engineering teams and delivering solutions in a cloud environment (Azure) leveraging platform capabilities
