Job Description We are seeking a dynamic UI Designer to play a pivotal role in enhancing the synergy between design and development. This position is dedicated to providing robust support for our development teams and desk developers, with a primary focus on elevating our UI Component Library, Design Patterns, etc. via the Design System. Collaborating closely with development teams and product managers across London, Geneva, and Houston, you will be instrumental in advancing and expanding our design system. The core objective is to create a cohesive visual language that not only unifies our products but also ensures they are inherently user-friendly, requiring minimal assistance for seamless adoption across the business. This is a unique opportunity to tackle intricate challenges, simplifying complex functionalities and contributing to the evolution of our design ecosystem. Whilst the role will initial focus on the Design System it will grow into Product and UX Design. What you’ll do  Craft Intuitive UI Within a Unified Design System: • Focus on designing seamless and user-friendly experiences within the framework of our Design System, emphasizing UI Component Library, Design Patterns, and cohesive design principles • Streamline and unify the user experience across diverse applications in the commodities industry, ranging from ship tracking to trading and financial data plotting Iterative Prototyping and User Feedback: • Rapidly prototype design concepts to gather feedback, iterate based on insights, and converge towards solutions aligned with the Design System principles • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by incorporating feedback into the design process Collaborate with Development Teams: • Work closely with development teams, providing design implementation guidance and establishing best practices for interactions and UI functionality, all within the framework of the Design System Maintain and Evolve the Design System: • Take ownership of maintaining and expanding our Design System specifically focusing on a React component library, UI Component Library, and established Design Patterns • Ensure consistency and scalability in design solutions by actively contributing to the evolution of the Design System Leverage Tools Like Figma and Storybook: • Utilize design tools such as Figma and Storybook to create and communicate design specifications effectively • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating design concepts into tangible specifications for development Contribute to Application Testing Enhancement: • Play a role in improving the testing processes for our applications, aligning with the user-centric principles embedded in our Design System Qualifications • 3+ years of working in digital design, ideally in a similar UI Designer role in house or in a digital agency • Strong user experience and visual design skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • A good understanding of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, CSS and React as well as any other web technologies which could be useful or relevant • Familiarity with Figma for wireframing, design, prototyping and developer collaboration. Ideally any experience with Figma Developer workflow would be a benefit • Ideally any experience in the commodities sector would be a big plus, but is not essential • We are offering a permanent role • A strong design portfolio that demonstrates your approach to user interface design as well as proficiency in experience design and attention to detail Additional Information About you  • Organised and comfortable working to deadlines, you’ll be working with product managers and business analysts from different offices and other parts of the business, so you need to be responsible for managing your time effectively • You have an interest in simplifying complex user behaviours into succinct and intuitive interfaces • You enjoy creating quick and dirty prototypes for testing and feedback purposes but are also meticulous and precise when it comes to UI design and developer handover • Comfortable taking the lead in presenting your work to teams and getting feedback What we offer  • Large variety of projects, creative freedom • Opportunity to shape the design language of firmwide tools  • Modern well-equipped gym  • Central location close to Victoria Station  • Potential for travel to our Singapore, Houston and Geneva offices
