About The Role
We are looking for an experienced, cross-functional ‘Senior Backend Software Developer’ to join an existing team. This role requires a dynamic individual who is highly motivated and has a deep understanding of projects that are Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) in nature.
Key Responsibilities Of The Position
• Write secure, well-tested, performant, and quality code
• Lead the technical design and implementation of software products across a team of developers
• Review code developed by other developers and provided feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
• Develop specialist knowledge in relevant programming languages, tools, techniques and apply expertise and knowledge to deliver effective solutions
• Backend technologies: Python, Gitlab, Pulumi, Ansible, Packer, AWS, Azure
Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development (including time in team lead roles)
• Experience with one or more IaC approaches such as Pulumi, Terraform, Terraform CDK, Puppet, AWS CDK or AWS CloudFormation (Pulumi experience is Highly Desirable)
• Experience with GitLab or similar CI/CD platforms
• Experience working in a range of DevOps teams to deliver timely and performant software solutions Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Engineering or related degree
• Proficient in Python (C/C++, Java are also desirable)
• Software solution design and engineering
