We are hiring an Assistant Manager, IT Quality Assurance!
The Role:
The Assistant Manager, IT Quality Assurance will report directly to the Director, IT Quality Assurance. The Assistant Manager is responsible for playing a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the software applications and products that are developed in house by the IT department at First National. The Assistant Manager will be providing their team with the necessary training, coaching and guidance in developing testing strategies.

What you will do:
• Will collaborate with intermediate and senior QA analysts to create test plans and strategies for various projects.
• Participate and oversee in the creation of comprehensive and effective test plans based on project requirements.
• Coordinate the execution of test cases, ensuring that testing is carried out in a comprehensive and effective manner.
• Assist in the development of quality assurance and testing policies, standards and procedures, processes.
• Oversees various application deployments and system updates.
• Collaborate with QA team, developers, and product stakeholders to communicate test results and participate in defect resolution discussions.
• Assign and distribute tasks among team members and manage workload distribution.
• Support the onboarding of new team members.
• Work with project stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during system development life cycles.
• Complete other duties as assigned by their manager.
The Requirements Needed:
• Completed post secondary education in a related field
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in software development testing.
• 2-3 years of management or equivalent leadership experience
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices
• Understanding of agile practices and the Scrum framework.
• Extensive experiencing using Microsoft Azure DevOps and Test Plans
• 5+ years of experience with First National systems and practices an asset (internal candidates only)
• Great communication skills are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Provide leadership and guidance and evaluation to all level of QA Analysts, fostering their growth and development.
• Ability to think independently, problem solve, and grasp new concepts quickly.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the QA process.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
• Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations under pressure.
