The Metrolinx Payments division, which is responsible for the PRESTO fare payment system, is seeking a Manager, Validation Service & QA responsible for the overall quality and performance of any additions, modifications or enhancements to the PRESTO system. This role sets standards; develops and executes the Quality Control (QC) strategy and plan; and oversees all aspects of systems performance, testing and acceptance in support of implementation of the PRESTO system. What will I be doing? • Manages and monitors system testing, including the management of the testing teams, to ensure that testing is on time and within budget, including: • Planning, implementing, and monitoring systems testing for all projects and new initiatives, including integration, user acceptance, performance and operational readiness testing • Planning and managing testing environments, systems, tools and infrastructure to ensure test activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring quality standards are met • Preparing the testing portion of project plans to identify the work breakdown structure, required resources, and budget to be incorporated into project or other delivery plans • Monitors to ensure strict adherence to approved and specified testing standards, guidelines, and methodologies so all releases meet necessary quality standards • Provides advice and guidance as necessary on other quality assurance or test activities, such as field testing or client pilot testing • Manages and plans the standards, processes and procedures to be followed by all project teams in accepting and testing systems, products, and deliverables • Monitors and tracks testing progress, providing regular project status and financial reporting • Provides coaching, guidance, and direction to staff to advance their professional development and ensure appropriate skill set • Devises and implements plans for continuous improvement of quality assurance and test activities, such as adoption of test automation methodologies and tools • Manages the investigation, consultation, planning and adoption of practices to advance the maturity of quality assurance within the Payments division, based on industry standards and best practices What skills & qualifications do I need? • Minimum eight (8) years' experience in Quality Control (QC) strategy, including developing integrated testing plans, and leading a team of professionals • Completion of a degree in a related discipline, an advanced / specialist technical certification -- or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent • Developing and managing Quality Control strategies, plans, tools and related standards and processes • Overseeing all aspects of system performance, testing and acceptance in support of system implementation • Implementation project coordination, tracking project progress and financial reporting • Oral/written and presentation communication skills to identify and communicate migration defects and develop related solutions • Leadership to manage and guide Don't Meet Every Requirement?
