We are seeking a tech lead with a good background in web development both front and back end to lead and mentor a small web development team.
This role would be aligned with the technology practice and be the key link between the development, product, digital, and project management teams. As part of an interdisciplinary team, this role will ensure that the business requirements and milestones are understood by the team and would address capabilities and gaps to drive on time, on budget, and on expectation delivery of the final product.
You will report support our 6 Developers (2 x Back-End and 4 x Front-end) in the tech team.
This would suit a senior web developer looking to move into more of a managerial role or mentoring role guiding on best practice for coding and managing web development projects across PHP and JavaScript (React).
Responsibilities;
• Gather, review, compile technology requirements and other documentation.
• Collaborate with development team and PM to plan project sprints.
• Educate, implement, and maintain development standards, trends, and best practices with user experience, design, copywriters, and other contributors and stakeholders.
• Work with PM to support/create project plans/timelines.
• Monitor workflow and make recommendations for timeline adjustments.
• Remove impediments blocking the development team.
Skills and background required;
• Team Leadership / Strong Communication skills.
• Front End and Back End Web Development experience.
• Troubleshoot code and issues across PHP and JavaScript.
• React & Vue experience.
• Agile working experience.
• Experience in Ad agency environment highly desirable.
• Hybrid working – happy to attend the Waterloo office once or twice a week.
Role would suit a senior developer looking to move to team lead - must have technical background ideally looking to move to a less 'hands on' role.
