Tyro are now looking to welcome an experienced Android & iOS Software Engineers/Developer Programmers to be a member of our Digital team to work across our merchant-facing app. We employ Agile methods, and you’ll work in a collaborative team. As a key member of the development team, you will work closely with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and execute on our vision and values. While based in Sydney office or remotely across our hubs, you will report to the Delivery Lead.

Involved through the whole delivery life cycle, from inception to production, through to planning, development and testing, contributing at every stage Contributing to code reviews & documentation as well as taking on complex bug fixes Living a real agile experience and being in control of your fate: contributing to the continuous improvement of the team Translating your technical skills to influence other developers, product managers and senior managers to ensure the team understands the Tyro vision Responsible for the development of high-performance features, services and algorithms Experimenting with new technologies! What you'll need
Strong Kotlin Android development skills (ideally you have your own Android app to showcase) Familiarity with Android architecture patterns and able to contribute to the design of Android applications Some knowledge of commonly used libraries (rxJava, retrofit, mockito, dagger)
OR
Strong iOS development skills, particularly in Swift / UIKit Willingness to learn SwiftUI (we’re using it in production today!) Familiarity with iOS architecture patterns and able to contribute to the design of iOS applications
AND
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management or other related field or equivalent work experience A strong familiarity with invoking RESTful APIs for back-end services Some experience with automated testing of Android apps ideally in combination with continuous integration (firebase test lab, buildkite) Experience with test-driven-development A willingness to work in a pairing environment A collaborative approach to working together with other engineers, product managers, UXers and Visual Designers in an agile environment Passion for improving user experience and delivering customer values Willing to work in a team with mixed expertise (iOS, Android, Java)
