Job Description About the Payment team: We’re looking to turbo-charge our payments business! We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Ignition – wrapping unique and innovative software around payments – and we’re now on the hunt for an engaging, passionate, critical thinker and problem solver to navigate our payments initiatives. Currently processing over $2 billion in payments through hundreds of thousands of end clients, there's a remarkable opportunity to expand and enhance our global offering within our existing client base. Our payments team is a dedicated, cross-functional group comprising product management, engineering, design, and customer experience. Together, we focus on constructing and supporting our payments infrastructure, creating inventive payment and software solutions to propel payment volume and revenue growth, and establishing internal tools and processes for effective fraud and risk mitigation. About the role: We're looking for an experienced product leader to head our growing payments business who's passionate about solving customer problems, building world-class products, and driving growth across our payments business (new customers, attach rates, revenues, retention, payment customer satisfaction, etc.). In this role, you will work directly with the product group (product design, engineering, and product management) and collaborate with key internal partners in Marketing, Customer Experience, Fraud/Risk, and Finance. You will steer payments for Ignition in a manner that accelerates payment adoption and drive commercial outcomes. You will be responsible for the strategy and execution of significant product initiatives that will ensure our customers get the most value out of our payments platform. What your day to day will look like: • Work closely alongside the senior leadership team to develop and own forward-looking plans, roadmaps, strategies, and revenues that balance growth, innovation, and risk • Own the commercial and product outcomes for payments at Ignition, including developing and implementing strategies to: • Increase payment adoption rates for new and existing customers. • Increase processing volume from existing payment customers. • Increase the profitability of new and existing volume through value-added feature enhancement, price optimization, packaging and cost management efforts. • Become an expert on Ignition’s payment business — you will elevate, educate and promote our payments narrative globally, both internally at Ignition and externally with customers, prospects and partners. • Work with our cross-functional leaders to develop payment dashboards illustrating key value drivers and insights, and work across teams to improve performance across these drivers. • Manage payment vendor relations, including our global Stripe partnership, and identify new revenue-generating opportunities. • Develop cross-functional relationships and project manage company-wide payments initiatives • Work directly with our engineering lead, and senior designer, to prioritize product enhancements and infrastructure improvements. • Develop new ways payments can be a differentiator for Ignition. • Oversee continuous competitive research to ensure Ignition’s product and pricing are continuously ahead of the competition in both capability, profitability and ease of use. Qualifications What you need to succeed: • Proven, at-scale experience in B2B SaaS and/or integrated payments environments • Experience in ANZ payments (cards and direct debit), and other international markets we operate in (US, Canada, UK). US market experience is highly desirable. • Understanding of implementation of payment software within a B2B software product that optimizes for onboarding, underwriting, payment processing and seamless integration with the underlying product offering. • Demonstrated business strategy, product management, pricing, packaging, payment economics and deal structuring expertise. • Balance fraud, risk and compliance with an international customer base and growth volume. • Strong understanding of the B2B SaaS payments process and reporting tactics, with a track record of consistently achieving revenue goals. • Analytical capabilities to create a company payments strategy while considering competitive and market trends with strong financial modelling and data analysis skills. • Strong leadership skills with a coaching, learning mindset • You’re a builder, a problem solver, an innovator and great communicator • Ability to influence and execute deliverables by partnering with cross-functional teams • ‘Stick-to-it-iveness’ mindset to persevere and deliver on your commitments. • Comfortable working in an iterative and incremental way, balancing many different inputs and constantly making trade-offs. • A sense of humour and the ability to focus yet still have a laugh in high-pressure situations.
