Covalent API is a Sydney-based fintech founded in 2019 that specializes in helping large enterprises rapidly launch engagement and rewards programs using our cloud platform, scheme integrations, partnerships network, and customer-facing front ends. We are venture-backed and scaling exponentially.
Role Description
We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering based in Sydney, offering the flexibility of 3/4 days of remote work. We are in search of an exceptional individual with a strong foundation as a full-stack developer, capable of personally crafting outstanding code and scaling and leading a team. This is a very hands-on role. It is a full-time permanent position.
As the Director of Engineering, you will spearhead the redevelopment of our platform. Our technology stack is built on AWS, utilizing a JVM-based Dockerized application within Elastic Beanstalk, while our database operates on RDS.

Qualifications & Experience
• Demonstrated experience in the Australian fintech landscape.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• A proven track record of at least 5 years in hands-on full-stack development.
• Proficiency with AWS, JVM, Node and related.
• Strong background in crafting high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Expertise in agile methodologies, software testing, and a deep understanding of DevOps culture
