Overview: SimBioSys is on a mission to transform cancer care, decision making, and patient experience through computational simulations. By virtualizing cancer, clinicians and patients are empowered with a better understanding of the disease and can assess all available options computationally to truly individualize treatment SimBioSys is seeking apart-time experienced IT Manager to lead the organizations Information and technology operations. This role includes oversight of IT services, infrastructure, and applications, and works closely with SimBioSys product development teams in maintaining a robust and secure environment for SimBioSys services. The ideal individual will have experience leading IT in a startup or fast-paced environment, and is capable of balancing hands-on work with managing external managed service providers to provide IT services. This role will be part-time with the opportunity to move to full – time as the company expands. You consider yourself to have an above average “E.Q.” Responsibilities: • Create and manage the IT service desk and end user supporting including onboarding/offboarding, computer/application support, and training • Own IT on-site infrastructure and cloud-based SaaS (e.g., Microsoft 365) • Provide a robust and secure AWS environment for SimBioSys applications development and production, in collaboration with DevOps • Lead the selection, configuration, deployment, and support for new IT applications, in collaboration with SimBioSys business groups • Lead information security including system implementations, monitoring, and training, and act as HIPAA Security Officer; work closely with regulatory leadership to maintain compliance and gain certifications, e.g., HITRUST • Build relationships with leaders across the company, to help identify technology solutions, troubleshoot problems, and share IT plans, progress, and metrics • Develop IT roadmaps and manage to an annual IT budget • Manage relationships and contracts with IT vendors About the Candidate: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or another technical discipline, or equivalent experience • 7+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years of IT leadership • Track record of successful system implementations and project leadership • Excellent communication skills • Experience managing external vendors including IT managed service providers • Experience with implementation of information security systems and monitoring • Experience with AWS, Linux, and multi-site networking • Experience with selecting and managing cloud applications; Microsoft 365/Office 365 strongly preferred • Experience operating in a regulated IT environment; healthcare and HIPAA experience strongly preferred, FDA and medical device experience a plus
