About Your Role
We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our growing team of full-stack, mobile and data science engineers.
As Vira’s Head of Engineering, you'll take the leading role in planning, building and monitoring our software products. Possessing great communication skills you will have the ability to break-down problems, explain work, and relay information in a way which helps everyone move forward with a shared understanding.

Requirements
As the Head of Engineering at Vira Health you will
• Play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture, driving technical excellence and leading our talented teams.
• Manage a team of 10+ full-stack and mobile engineers, supporting your team to perform and grow professionally
• Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with business goals in an inclusive and innovative environment
• Take ownership of the regulatory, compliance and security needs of our products from a technical perspective and be confident in explaining these both internally and externally
• Champion engineering best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Be heavily involved with the planning, building and monitoring of our products and features in partnership with our product managers, leading technical decision making across our backend, frontend and mobile
• Liaise with clients on a technical basis for integrations as well as helping to explain our infrastructure and technical systems
We are looking for someone who
• Has a successful track record in an engineering leadership role and is passionate about leading a distributed team in a fast-paced environment. You have managed 10+ indirect reports before.
• Possesses a deep understanding and experience of security best practices, ideally in tandem with regulatory and compliance needs in US healthcare
• Has exceptional communication skills; the ability to breakdown problems, explain work, and relay information in a way which helps everyone move forward with a shared understanding
• Enjoys taking ownership and is comfortable with ambiguity. You provide clarity and make things happen whether that is designing systems from scratch or delivering complex projects.
• Has significant experience developing complex web applications in any language. Bonus points for experience with Vue.js, Typescript, NestJS, PHP, Symfony, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Jest, Docker, AWS, mobile app development, monorepos and microservices, Terraform
• Is eager to be actively involved in the whole product development process, not just your domain. We need everyone to think and problem solve like product managers
• Has a data-driven mindset. You challenge teams to measure impact and demonstrate added value
• Is passionate for company culture and excited to contribute to it
