The Oracle Database Administrator plans for and provides reliable, available and secure infrastructure systems including effectively executing tactical planning and installation, configuration management, utilization, capacity management, vendor and customer relationship management and problem resolution related to data infrastructure systems.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:
• Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $120,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

• Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
• Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
• Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Install and maintain DBMS software including patches, fixes, database version upgrades and migrations to new Linux releases. Requires working closely with application support team partners to test, maintain schema objects, design & debug triggers, stored procedures and user defined functions.
• Monitor the Oracle DBMS environment, identify poorly performing jobs, assist with troubleshooting & tuning queries. Incident monitoring involves analysis of database logs, alerts for hardware, memory or disk capacity and performance issues to take appropriate actions. This will require implementing database parameter and configuration changes for optimal performance with the host operating system.
• Availability, backup and recovery: Ensure data backup and recovery procedures are implemented with Business Resiliency procedures documented, reviewed and tested multiple times throughout the year.
• User and data security: Design, implementation and maintenance of database security strategies that provide the appropriate level of privilege granted for users and applications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex database and application environments with imprecise information provided by customers and end users.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
• 5+ years of professional experience in Oracle database administration using Linux operating systems including operating independently while supporting 24x7 production database systems within a team rotation.
• Experience writing and maintaining SQL (structured query language) programming including queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, performance tuning.
• Knowledge of database physical and logical design principles, while managing and deploying application database modifications.
• Strong research capabilities: Experience identifying problems, effectively triaging and managing problems, prioritizing critical issues, and working with vendors as needed. Propensity for on-going process improvement.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical problems to non-technical audiences, while working under pressure to quickly resolve critical production issues.

• Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is highly preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with database monitoring/alerting tools (ServiceNow, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Patrol).
• Experience supporting IBM LUW/UDB databases, Ansible/Ansible Tower development, and application development background.
