We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Backend Developer to take a leadership role in advancing the backend of our enterprise-grade system. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with members of the engineering and product teams to execute our ambitious product roadmap, thereby directly influencing the products and features you will be building. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, possess a take-charge/can-do attitude, and demonstrate flexibility and resiliency. As a small but nimble team, we are looking for candidates who excel in an autonomous setting.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborating with Engineering team leaders to research and break down features into assignable tickets for the backend platform.
• Attending weekly scrum meetings.
• Creating Technical Requirement Documents for new features.
• Staying updated on new technologies and ensuring the use of best practices.
• Identifying, surfacing, and addressing technical debt.
• Mentoring fellow engineers.
• Collaborating with the DevOps team to ensure the creation of pertinent logging and metrics.
• Providing API contracts to Frontend developers and becoming the main point of contact for backend-related questions.
• Monitoring feature releases.
• Ensuring new features have adequate test coverage
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in Django.
• Proficient in AWS.
• Experience with Docker.
• Proficiency in Microservice Architecture.
• Experience with REST API & GraphQL.
• Preferred experience in SaaS.
• Familiarity with React/Redux is a plus.
• Startup experience is a plus.
