The SQL Server Database Administrator operates within the internal Information Technology departments or client facing service department and takes responsibility for the performance, integrity and security of large, more complex databases and processes.
Individuals in this role take responsibility for the design of both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.
The SQL Server Database Administrators work closely with Change Control, Release Management, Asset and Configuration Management and Capacity and Availability Management to establish the needs of users, monitoring user access and security.
They control access permissions and privileges to database environments.

Will be compensated on top of the base as either time in lieu (TOIL) or overtime

What you will be doing
We are focusing on the following technical SQL Server skills :
Installation and maintenance of multiple versions of SQL Server (, , etc)
Database recovery (multiple scenario / recovery option experience)
Configuring and maintaining database backups using a variety of technologies.
Configuring high availability solutions and an ability to recommend different approaches for different scenarios.
Performance tuning
Security maintenance and monitoring for SQL Server.
Proactive maintenance tasks for a DBA.
Highly regarded experience with additional technologies / functions including :
Postgress
LogicMonitor
ServiceNow
Cloud / PaaS (Azure SQL / AWS RDS / etc)
SSRS / SSIS
Migration from on premise (or IaaS) to Cloud based databases
Non technical highly regarded experience :
DBA’s with remote support experience (supporting multiple clients in parallel
Experience with service management tools and ticket / request prioritisation (ITIL concepts) particularly ServiceNow and / or ConnectWise
Experience with 7x24 on call (within a roster)
Experience working in a geographically diverse team (AU / NZ / India etc)
Strong communication (written and spoken) skills and a proven ability to communicate with client technical, business and management levels
Proven team player ability to work with DBAs of varying experience.
