MAJOR INVESTMENT BANK IS LOOKING FOR POSTGRE SQL DBA FOR A LONG TERM CONTRACT POSITION IN CHICAGO, IL or DENVER, CO Industry : Banking/Finance Position : PostGRE SQL Location : Chicago, IL or Denver, CO Duration : 12-18 months contract to hire.Looking for a candidate eligible to convert into full time* Responsibilities: Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL, including dependencies, in a Linux environment, in a highly available, clustered configuration. Build and maintain scripting/tooling/configuration to integrate PostgreSQL with internal auth and logging services. Maintain documentation, Scripting and/or tooling supporting environment synchronization. Act as a consultant on a range of related technologies in a subject matter expert role. Develop software or system scripts to simplify or eliminate the dependence on human intervention for recurring tasks. Provide documentation to support configuration processes and procedures. Engage as a subject matter expert (SME) in Incident triage efforts, failure scenario modelling and work with Problem Manager to diagnose root causes for incident/problem management investigations. Work with Production Support teams to perform knowledge transfer, playbook updates and training for new monitoring capabilities. Mandatory skills: Production engineering/operations experience (minimum 5-7 years) Experience in supporting infrastructure in a large enterprise environment. Strong experience as a Linux Systems Admin/Engineer with the ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis PostgreSQL installation, configuration, and administration in a multi-datacenter environment Strong data background in terms of schema design (tables, indexes, 3rd normal form, denormalization to optimize for performance, etc. ) Experience working in a DevOps and CI/CD environment. Understanding of load balancing, clustering, and other never down strategies and techniques Good understanding of various protocols such as http/tcp/smtp/snmp/dns Good verbal and written communication skills Excellent attention to detail Experience with patching of Servers and hosted applications Strong problem-solving skills Aptitude to independently learn new technologies. Good understanding of Change and Incident Management processes Good understanding of Splunk or other centralized logging tools Desired skills Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of PostGress Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and/or Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms Knowledge of software development lifecycle; preferably with Agile, Kanban/Scrum Experience with cyber security related workflows If Interested please reach out to (980)-301-9405 or send your resumes at (see below
