Our client is an established non-profit in the educational technology space. Their proprietary technology platform matches high school students of all backgrounds to mentors who help guide them through college and beyond as they pursue career ambitions. They are actively growing and have major plans to scale the organization as they aim to serve additional young people across the country. They are currently seeking a JavaScript Engineer with experience in the MERN stack, specifically with Node and a focus on API’s and the cloud (AWS). This is a critical hire as they grow their technology teams and ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience and be self-sufficient with a go-getter attitude. This is a fully remote position open to candidates throughout the United States.
Title: JavaScript Engineer – Node API’s
Location: Fully Remote
Required skills and responsibilities:
• 3+ years of experience in the MERN stack with a specific focus on Node ideally using Node to design and develop API’s
• Strong understanding of NoSQL DB’s, ideally w/ MongoDB
• Ability to work full stack as needed and experience working w/ React (strong bonus for React Native)
• Professional experience working within AWS and utilizing it’s various services
• Capable of working on infrastructure as needed including deploying code, implementing CI/CD solutions, and server work
• Disciplined self-starter, resourceful, flexible and able to work independently
Additional Skills:
• AWS Certification(s)
• Comfortable with infrastructure tools such as New Relic, GitHub Actions, and others
• Familiar with Python
• Ability to maintain and debug existing code and comfortable in a test driven development environment
• Interest and curiosity in AI and ML and ability to pick up new tools on the job as needed
• Ed-Tech, Non-Profit, or related industry experience
Compensation and Benefits:
• Base Salary in the range of $110,000 – $130,000
• Above average benefits package including 100% employer funded medical and dental coverage and 401K w/ employer match
