Sr. Database Administrator / ETL Developer We are currently seeking a database administrator with experience in defining and administering database solutions in a distributed application environment. Candidates should have extensive handson database administration experience and be well versed in industry standard database design practices and administration processes. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential and candidates should be self-directed and motivated to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Major responsibilities include: Logical and physical database design of systems, including OLTP, data warehousing and business intelligence Administration of a relational databases (MySQL) and a NoSQL databases (time-series preferred) Hands-on development of ETL, internal/external data feeds and reporting solutions Support of critical production systems, including off-hours support Location: Princeton, NJ Organizational Structure: The Sr. Database Administrator / ETL Developer will report directly to the Sr. VP of Business Systems Development. Qualifications: Deep experience in database design, data modeling, capacity planning, performance tuning, archival and backup/recovery processes and disaster recovery design across multiple RDBMS platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc. Expertise with time series databases such as OneTick or KDB is a major plus Experience with a business intelligence tool such as Business Objects or similar Advanced SQL knowledge Good knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Shell Scripting Extensive hands on database administration and development experience Experience with very large data warehouse systems is a plus Well versed in industry standard architecture design methodologies and processes Strong written and oral communication skills Self-directed and motivated to work in a fast paced team-oriented environment Education and Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering Five plus years of experience using RDBMS technologies to build large-scale business applications Financial industry experience is a plus
