About the role
The Junior IT Operations Engineer will work within the IT Operations team with very skilled professionals who enjoy working in a challenging and inspiring environment.
The role will gain deep insights into many areas of technology and the business. You will be supportive and responsible for IT infrastructure, security, hosting, Azure cloud provisioning, virtualisation, installation / configuration on both desktop services and servers, hardware, software, and network & security appliances.
The role is required to work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions, working with the IT Operations Team, project managers and application owners to effectively deliver project outcomes as well as perform BAU tasks.
What you'll do
• Review security issues and assist in patching, remediation, and reporting
• Assist with Intune, Autopilot, and the Desktop SOE
• Take escalation and assist the IT Service Desk
• Provide operational / day-to-day support of infrastructure, applications, and end-user compute for the business
• Monitoring our servers and services
• Contribute to and maintain system standards & documentation
• Assist in building of solutions for various project and operational needs in the cloud
• Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project / operational requirements
• Maintain the security and integrity of the network so that security policies are applied, and recommendations are made
• Monitor and perform backups
About you
• BSc in Information Technology or relevant work experience
• Administration experience in a similar role (minimum 1-2 years)
• Strong computer literacy skills
• Must have a background in administration
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
• An ability to work well under pressure
• A friendly and helpful demeaner
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly, including experience solving major incidents
• Familiarity with server operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and basic server administration
• Experience with technology service monitoring tools
• Familiarity with IT service management tools and frameworks (ITIL)
• Demonstrated experience in delivering exemplary support and customer service
• Excellent documentation skills for keeping records of issues, resolutions, and operational procedures
• Effective communication with the ability to work as part of a team, especially in a high-pressure environment where collaboration is essential to solving issues
