About The Role
As the Data Engineer, you will be developing and integrating Engineers Australia's analytical data platform to drive customer centric solutions and capabilities. This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
Location: flexible, however Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane/Canberra preferred;
In This Role You Will
• Model, build and deploy data into our data lake and data warehouse, in line with modern data architecture principles.
• Design and develop data ingestion, transformation, and presentation pipelines.
• Provide ongoing optimisation, orchestration and administration of data platforms.
• Keep ahead of the curve with learning and adoption of the latest data technologies and tools relevant to our enterprise data environment.
• Other duties, as required, to help build our data capabilities and support insights-driven decision-making
Here’s What We’re Looking For
• Proficiency in Azure Data Engineering, with demonstrated expertise in leveraging Azure services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage for efficient data engineering.
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, with a strong capability to orchestrate and automate data workflows
• Data integration skills with proven ability to integrate data from diverse sources, encompassing both on-premise and cloud-based environments, ensuring a high level of data consistency and reliability.
• Data modelling proficiency, with a strong understanding of data modelling concepts, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing effective data models.
• Data Security Knowledge, including an in-depth understanding of data security principles, and a track record of implementing robust security measures for data storage and processing within the Azure environment.
• Knowledge of contemporary BI languages, including;
• Proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from relational databases.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python and PowerShell, for automating and customizing data engineering processes [desirable].
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps for version control, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) of data engineering solutions.
• Proven experience in implementing monitoring solutions to effectively track the performance, cost-effectiveness, and health of data pipelines.
• Proficient in managing and deploying Azure infrastructure as code (IaC) using Azure DevOps and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates [Desirable].
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to working in an Agile environment, employing iterative and incremental development practices to enhance flexibility, collaboration, and responsiveness to evolving project requirements.
