Project Director, REACH Network (Hybrid) University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: 40447 Salary: $6,567 - $14,583 Monthly Position Description: The Center for the Transformation of Schools (CTS) at UCLA's School of Education and Information Studies (Ed&IS) is dedicated to partnering with the education ecosystem to bring about systems change through Humanizing Research, Validating Practices, and Transformative Policies with key stakeholders to support equitable educational outcomes for historically underserved students. The Project Director, REACH Network is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the REACH Network project for the duration of the grant. Under the general oversight of CTS Research Director, Executive Director of Research Administration, and Co-Faculty Directors at UC Berkeley and UCLA, the Project Director, REACH Network will independently serve as the leader and primary point of contact with the University of California, Presidents Office and key statewide partners to conduct a statewide study on Race Education and Community Healing (REACH) Network in California. The Project Director, REACH Network will develop and establish REACH communities of practice through a rigorous selection process statewide based on geography, size and demographics that will develop and document evidence-based models for alternatives to suspensions, expulsions, and criminalization practices in schools. The study will be supplemented with briefs that identify policy interventions and models that can be undertaken by state policymakers and locals in the short-term and long-term to improve REACH Network communities. CTS research will be produced with the direct engagement of students, educators, scholars, postsecondary education system leaders, advocacy organizations, and state policymakers to inform the effort and to begin laying the foundation for a state coalition to drive the urgency of the issue. The Project Director, REACH Network will work closely with CTS Research Director, Executive Director of Research Administration, and Co-Faculty Directors at UC Berkeley and UCLA to support deliverables for the grant that will advance the goals of the project. This includes establishing the research agenda and study design and analysis, identifying related research projects, scholarly networks, project development efforts and supporting school, district, university, county, and state practices tied to the grant's goals. The Project Director, REACH Network will also be responsible for facilitating quarterly meetings with research advisory members, meetings with Center staff supporting the project and periodic reporting to key statewide partners. The Project Director, REACH Network will co-develop a timeline, evaluation metrics, and project management benchmarks with the respective school site and partners and generate tools for measuring progress for the study. Special Instructions: The budgeted hiring salary/target range for this position is the posted minimum to $7,916 monthly, with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
