We are currently hiring for a Network Engineering Team Lead to join us! Role Purpose: You will be a team leader within the networking team responsible for a number of key areas within the business across new product design and introduction, delivery, support and system maintenance, all focused around the combination of IP and RAN systems that provide wireless services to our customers. The Senior Network Engineer may be required to attend client meetings in order to capture new requirements, and manage pre and post integration testing. It is expected that the role has a split between office based work, onsite field work including but not limited to fault diagnostics, lab testing work, and home work in hybrid role. Key Responsibilities: • Perform architectural planning and network design along with system architecture team, including configuration, integration and documentation support, contributing to innovation for new Freshwave systems • Provide operational support for complex, wireless network deployments, infrastructure and management of end to end wireless solutions. • Ensuring Freshwave systems and data centres meet new TSA Code of Practise • Troubleshoot IP and RAN related problems identified during testing and drive them to resolution including working with test and measurement equipment used to test and troubleshoot IP and RAN networks, and leadership and guidance to wider network engineering team • Experience of architectures involving regional redundant data centres, and using Cloud based systems such as AWS/Azure – would be advantageous. • Provide expertise related to Freshwave data centres by assisting the wider team in areas such as system functionality, security, access controls, change control, software loads, system availability, disaster recovery, partner management and the necessary processes to ensure Freshwave quality goals are met and exceeded. • Network automation. Including programming/coding of network tools and systems. • Creating and maintaining system documentation. This is key for our systems, such as system HLD and LLD • Travel to Freshwave sites is highly likely within this role, to represent Freshwave as Senior Engineer for complex system deployments, trials, and investigations Knowledge and Experience: • 5-10 years’ technical experience, ideally having also taken first steps in leading a team • Fundamental knowledge in all packet based protocols such as TCP / IP (including protocols like DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc.), switching and routing protocols • Knowledge of LAN switching architecture, design and implementation • Strong understanding and experience of data centre operations under formal IT controls, including UNIX/LINUX administration • Having Cisco network certifications - CCNP (routing and switching) or equivalent as a minimum • Experience with Juniper including EX/QFX distribution switches & SRX firewalls Detailed understanding of modern router architecture. • Experience of variety of data centre architectures including geo-redundancy and cloud using using AWS/Azure • Familiar service provider or enterprise deployment environment • Understanding diagnostic tools, Tcpdump, Wireshark, NMAP, Netflow. • Knowledge of NMS such as OpenNMS or similar • Experience of managing Virtual Server Environments. • Network automation exposure with experience in Python software development and network infrastructure management using CLI, SNMP, NETCONF interfaces • Experience of automation frameworks such as Ansible • Experience with different component of Cellular Core and RAN of mobile network • Experienced in data communications and networking principles; standards. • Experienced in traffic engineering and bandwidth capacity management The successful candidate will...: • Be a highly motivated self starter individual with a real can do attitude. • Be a leader and team player within Networking team and beyond • Good analytical and investigative skills. • Enjoy and be used to working in a dynamic and fast paced environment. • Have the highest levels of integrity. • Have good written and oral communication skills and be able to present to wider team Our Company Values: • Engineering excellence (we're engineering experts and the quality of our output is second to none) • Do the right thing (we're neutral in our position, doing what's best for our people, our partners, our customers, society and the environment) • Set the pace (we act quickly and work efficiently, setting the pace for our projects and industry standards) Benefits: • Group Personal Pension • Life Assurance • Income Protection Insurance • Private Medical Insurance (PMI) • Free Eye Tests • Employee Assistance Programme • Cycle-to-Work Scheme
