Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a technical leader with financial services experience to join our team of Industry Solutions Architects. Key job responsibilities You will be responsible for creating and executing the technical strategy alongside sales and business development as we work to delight our Financial Services customers through a deep relationship with AWS. You will partner with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS with Financial Services customers. You will also partner with other teams within AWS such as services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management. This position includes travel up to 20% within ANZ. A day in the life As a Solution Architect, you will go beyond the technical solution architecture and work with the account teams, specialists and partners to deliver a practical solution that will accelerate the customers business outcome. You will also contribute to uplifting your knowledge through the broad catalogue of accreditation and education opportunities that AWS offer. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Sydney, NSW, AUS Basic Qualifications • 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of large-scale, enterprise applications • Experience in the Financial Services industry focused on back-end and front-end applications in either banking, capital markets, insurance or payments. • Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud. • Understanding of the Financial Services ISV/vendor ecosystem and technology due to the customers you're partnering with. • Technical degree or equivalent work experience required. Preferred Qualifications • Broad technology experience including: cloud architecture, applications development, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, machine learning, networking, security, storage, DevOps, containers, serverless, CI/CD, management and monitoring, cloud migrations, IT transformation. • Strong business acumen demonstrated by articulating and solving for critical business problems • Experience architecting/designing solutions built on cloud ideal but not required (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Presentation and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and technical teams. • Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations. • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
