Forsyth Barnes have partnered with a large property management business who build homes and communities across the UK. Our client is now looking to add a Principal Data Platform Engineer to the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the operation and optimisation of their data platform.
Responsibilities:
• Data set and table management, deployment and configuration of the data platforms components and designing and implementing monitoring and optimisation strategies to enhance platform performance.
• Take an active role in the design and roll out of access & security controls, GDPR compliance, governance and change management as well as supporting day to day operations for Data Engineering
• Lead Dev Ops / Data Ops activities within the Data Engineering function
• Be the link between Data Engineering and the Cloud Infrastructure and Network teams
Requirements:
• 3+ years Data Platform Engineer or similar role with strong track record.
• Expertise in data platform architecture, configuration, and optimisation with a focus on MPP databases like Google Big Query.
• Strong proficiency in Data Engineering best practices including dataset and table management, data pipelines, access & security, GDPR compliance, monitoring, and alerting.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP.
• Experienced with Dev Ops and Agile.
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of Google’s Big Query platform
