Toronto Business College is a private career college that has partnered with an Ontario College of Arts and Technology to offer programs to international students in the GTA. Our goal is to provide our students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to thrive in the increasingly dynamic workforce. We strive to offer the most relevant programs and integrate hands-on learning experiences into every class to best equip our students to succeed. TBC is seeking to hire a part time instructor for our Wireless Information Networking program. The courses will be delivered on campus to international students. Courses within the program include: • Implementing Operating Systems • Introduction to Network Security • Introduction to Networks • Introduction to Virtualization with VMware • Introduction to Wireless Communication • Wireless Information Technology Principles and Best Practices in Canada • Fundamentals of Routing and Switching • Mobile Communication • RF Spectrum and Propagation Theory • RF and Network Systems and Components • Wireless Network Security • Business Communications in Canada Instructor Responsibilities: • Ensure that course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices within relevant professional/program disciplines • Upload grades and comments on the Learning Management System in a timely fashion • Create an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles • Implement course learning outcomes and assessment strategies, ensuring that they support and reflect program goals • Assure that students are aware of all relevant learning outcomes, learning strategies and assessment techniques • Assess student achievement of learning outcomes and support student progress through academic counselling and timely feedback • Develop multimedia materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporate appropriate educational technologies into the learning process Qualifications: • Degree in Computer Sciences (or related discipline) or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Master’s degree an asset • Minimum of five (5) years of current industry experience; facilitating learning at the postsecondary/adult level demonstrating a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning is a strong asset • Specific certifications for courses may be required • Theoretically and practically comfortable with the requisite hardware, software, and networking equipment used in lab settings • Excellent grounding in best practice and emerging knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field • A commitment to lifelong learning in the field • A proven ability to work within a collaborative environment, demonstrating flexibility • Exceptional communication and organizational skills • Advanced computer literacy and a demonstrated willingness to acquire and use learning tools (such as the college’s LMS) commensurate with departmental requirements • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and problem-solving, conflict and stress management skills • An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse student population AODA Organization Statement: Toronto Business College is committed to providing equal workplace opportunities and an inclusive environment for all candidates and current employees.
