1-3 yr contact at ACIC support and administration of Microsoft SQL database platforms • Must have Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience, current negative vetting level 1 clearance & COVID vaccinated • $depends on experience • Canberra office for ACIC Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the support and administration of Microsoft SQL database platforms, including: • Providing Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2012 through to 2019) database administration, database security and production support, including Always On clusters • Upgrades, availability and performance monitoring & tuning, installations, managing replications, diagnosing system problems, disaster recovery testing and maintaining user accessibility of Microsoft SQL Server databases • Routine maintenance and patching of the SQL database platforms • Resolving complex issues involving: database performance, database capacity, resiliency, stability, replication, and other key aspects of distributed database technology • Perform load balancing, redundancy and fault tolerance, optimize systems performance, reallocate resources, and make recommendations to improve overall system performance • Managing physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring • Reporting to management on the Microsoft SQL Server DBA team activities The principal accountabilities and responsibilities for all roles include: • Provide Subject Matter Expertise where required to ACIC CIO Division projects. • Participation and input into the CIO Division Design Authority as required. • Ensure availability, performance and capacity requirements are met for ACIC ICT, including incident management and future planning requirements. • Apply a high level of technical expertise in verifying and validating the current and future ICT states. • Ensure that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current. • Maintain hardware and software through regular maintenance and patching of assets. • Maintain compliance with the ACIC’s target Essential Eight maturity levels. • Sound understanding of and ability to operate within a mature ITIL framework. • Actively monitor and report on ACIC infrastructure. • Ensure the ACIC Network and Infrastructure platforms are able to meet current and future business requirements. • Apply technical ability to ensure the ACIC SQL database platforms remain secure in accordance with relevant Commonwealth and Agency security policies such as the ISM and PSPF. • Provide ongoing support to existing systems including high level problem resolution. • Apply highly developed written and verbal communication skills to develop briefings for senior internal and external stakeholders with a focus on key points and the use of appropriate language. • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support roster. • Build effective working relationships with the CIO Division sections and teams to ensure high level of communication and cross-functional partnerships are achieved
