Senior Data Engineer - SQL Server/ETL/Python/Hadoop/Cloud - Insurance - London
Our client, a leading Property & Casualty insurer based in the City of London, requires a Senior Data Engineer to join their team. As Senior Data Engineer you will play a key role in designing and implementing a data platform for pricing actuaries and leading a third-party team to build and deploy the system.
Key responsibilities include;
Gathering and analysing requirements;
Designing a scalable data platform;
Implementing data pipelines and integrations;
Support existing systems and investigate data anomalies;
Collaborate with external vendors/third-party development teams to build and deploy the data system; and Optimise performance and scalability.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE;
Proven experience working as a Senior Data Engineer in the insurance industry as well as experience of working with actuaries/pricing;
Strong understanding of data engineering principles, Datamodelling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
Proficient in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and experience with relevant data processing frameworks (Apache Spark/Hadoop).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and familiarity with relevant services (Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Glue, S3).
