If you're passionate about creating pixel-perfect web designs, skilled in building designs with HTML and CSS and JavaScript and have strong UX and UI design experience with a mobile-first mentality, read more to learn about this position. In this role as the Senior Frontend Web Designer/Developer, you are both a skilled Interactive Designer and Frontend Tech Lead. You are responsible for understanding, documenting, and improving how we work with our website platform in collaboration with cross-functional teams and technical vendors. Equally important are your web design skills for this role, as you will be our senior web and user experience designer. This role requires both design and technical skills. As a member of our extensive team of digital marketing, content, brand and engagement professionals, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Digital Engagement, you'll contribute to projects centred around a single website. These projects, involving multiple stakeholders, require close collaboration with a cross-functional team. Read on to discover the critical requirements for success in this role. As Our Ideal Candidate, You Will Have Design and User Experience: • Highly skilled in Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and experienced with InVision, Figma, Sketch, or similar tools. • Create mocks, wireframes, and final designs for desktop and mobile, aligning with business, brand, and AODA requirements. • Offer valuable design improvements based on UI/UX best practices. • Design user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for mobile and desktop experiences as required. • Enhance our website's user experience by serving as the knowledge expert for all things related to user interface and experience design. CMS Proficiency & HTML/CSS Mastery: • Utilize your excellent HTML and CSS skills and JavaScript skills to reproduce approved designs expertly within our CMS. Create web pages that perfectly match approved designs while adhering to brand, business, and AODA requirements and web best practices. • You're the go-to person for all things front-end on our website platform. You keep track of best practices, work with tech teams for improvements, and guide teams on what's possible with our tools Website Health & Troubleshooting: • You know how to use various debugging tools to audit and optimise your pages (LightHouse /SiteImprove or similar), and you always unit-test your work before you hand it off. • Ensure our website stays in top shape—fast loading, search engine-friendly, mobile-responsive, and user-friendly. Information Architecture Support: • Assist with creating intuitive information architecture and site maps for quick and easy user access.
