The opportunity
We are working with a leading Telecommunications company, assisting them with the development of a new Data team to assist in the implementation of an AI and Data Academy and creation of a data as an asset culture and we are looking for a Senior Data Operating Model Architecture Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the GM Data, Corporate & Infrastructure Architecture, you will be responsible for the design and development of a robust, efficient, Data Operating Model architecture. The primary focus will be to simplify and optimise data usage across the organisation, collaborating with stakeholders across the business including the Chief Data Office, Networks, and IT, to ensure alignment.
You will be responsible for monitoring compliance with the targeted data operating model architecture, overseeing and ensuring proper guardrails around ingestion, processing, and consumption, including ensuring strict requirements of metadata collection, lineage tracing, and DataOps pipeline test gates.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Defining the Target Data Operating Model (People, Process and technology features and requirements) Architecture, ensuring it aligns with the business objectives
• Defining and maintaining the data operating model roadmap
• Put together IT capex, opex and requirements for data architecture-related investments
• Data Operating Model Architecture Governance
• Leading a team providing leadership and guidance, ensuring Data Operating Model and Data Architecture best practises are followed.
This is a new role in a large and complex organisation, starting early in the New Year, so to qualify you will be an experienced Enterprise Data Architect and Manager and be able to demonstrate:
• Experience developing and implementing a Data Operating Model Architecture
• Experience defining enterprise data architecture and building data platforms, templatised cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and implementing data pipelines
• Ability to work across a large and complex organisation, working and influencing a variety of senior stakeholders and an ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks within data platforms and tooling
• Knowledge of CloudFormation or Terraform would be highly regarded.
