Senior Manager, Technical Program Manager - Machine Learning Are you interested in leading programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large scale products & platforms? The Machine Learning Experience (MLX) organization is leading the way in building and delivering platforms and intelligent customer experiences that supercharge responsible ML across Capital One. As a Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (TPM) on our Enterprise Machine Learning team, you will execute on high priority enterprise level initiatives and influence across our organization. You will work closely with product, engineering, data scientists, and other teams to create roadmaps, align programs with business priorities, define milestones and success metrics, and build scalable, secure, reliable, and efficient ML products and platforms. Your role will involve big picture thinking, presenting to executives, and holding engineering teams accountable for overall delivery goals. In addition to your technical program responsibilities, you will also work to expand the TPM discipline within the team. Using your industry knowledge and experience, you will educate the organization about the value of a skilled TPM. Our Senior Managers in TPM have: - Strong technical backgrounds, ideally with experience in building highly scalable platforms, products, or services. You can proactively identify and address technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle. - Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. - Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills. - A quantitative approach to problem-solving and the ability to implement holistic solutions collaboratively. You think systemically. - The ability to simplify complex technical concepts and make well-informed decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science teams. - Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results. - Exceptional cross-team collaboration skills. You can work with different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done. - Highly developed emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and a deep empathy for teams and partners. - Previous experience with machine learning, including building and deploying models, setting up cloud infrastructure, and working with major ML frameworks. - Experience in managing program communications with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to ensure transparency and timely information sharing. - The ability to bring teams together, foster collaboration, improve decision-making, and deliver value to customers from end to end. Basic Qualifications: - At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs. - Bachelor's degree. Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing. - 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services, preferably AWS. - 3+ years of experience building highly scalable mobile products and platforms. - 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery. - 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs, where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables, and unblock teams to achieve business impact. - 4+ years of technical program management experience. - 2+ years of machine learning experience. - Experience in building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment. - Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering). - PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
