This contract-based Windows Administrator/ Windows DevOpsis position is one of our direct clients in the New Jersey/ or New York City office.
Experience: —Requires a Minimum of 12+ years as a Windows Administrator or Windows DevOps in a Windows Server environment, along with solid communication skills and a few years of experience in systems administration
Location: New Jersey/ or New York City offices, Hybrid for 2- 3 days. It is not a remote position.
Duration: contract position for more than one year. It can be extended.
Must have USA work authorization.
Preference if someone lives in New York/ New Jersey or Philadelphia.

Overview: As a Windows Administrator/ Windows DevOps your work will encompass day-to-day systems operations duties, implementing, monitoring, fixing information systems, and providing support.
Responsibilities
• Supports, maintains, and enhances mission-critical information systems and infrastructure through infrastructure as code.
• Works with development to build and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Designs, develops, tests, and documents new automated solutions to improve current and new processes.
• Programmatically creates infrastructure in AWS, leveraging Autoscaling Groups, Security Groups, Route53, S3, and IAM.
• Reduces 3rd Party and Custom application Build, Deployment, and Configuration complexity through automated solutions.
• Researches new technologies and best practices to create and improve new or existing processes.
• Identifies, diagnoses, and corrects issues related to the operating systems, software, utilities, AWS environment, and ancillary services via Ansible automation.
• Performs daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity, availability, and performance of the infrastructure environment, server resources, systems, and key processes; reviews system and application logs; And verifies completion of scheduled jobs.
• Deploys and maintains operating system software and third-party software utilities, systems, and services within company operational guidelines.
• Conducts system analysis configuration management and develops improvements for system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Implements and maintains appropriate levels of system security.
• Manages system backup/disaster recovery procedures; participates in disaster recovery efforts, including regular testing.
• Addresses and resolves critical system issues as needed on a 24/7 basis, including notification, escalation, and coordination across the organization.
• Manages and addresses incident tickets and change requests within pre-defined service-level agreements.
• Regularly communicates the status of incidents and requests with customers and key stakeholders as dictated by the severity and circumstances of the incident.
• Maintains updated documentation of all in-progress and completed projects in appropriate systems as required by team management.
• Creates and maintains system documentation for organizational technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
• Must have experience with Windows background and system administration in a Windows Server environment, including experience administering in Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO), PowerShell scripting, and network-related services, such as Domain Name Service (DNS), DHCP, etc.
• Proficiency in PowerShell
• Prior experience with Public Cloud operations (AWS/Azure) • Ability to code and script - emphatic with incremental development, testing, and deployments.
• Languages: python, PowerShell, bash
• Tools/Process: git, continuous-integration, continuous-deployment • Strong experience with Windows 2016/2019, Windows Active Directory Proficient with Microsoft SCCM for deployment of both updates and applications • Ansible Automation (or equivalent like Puppet, Chef or SaltStack) • Understanding of Kubernetes and other container-based architectures • Terraform, or other IaC solutions • Strong grasp of automation tools • Ansible (or equivalent like Puppet, Chef or SaltStack) • GitOps/workflows, Done CI, Gradle, BuildBot, Gitlab CI
