What you'll do
As the AVP of IT Asset and Financial Management, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's information technology assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and other technology-related resources. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient utilization, tracking, and governance of all IT assets throughout their lifecycle. In addition to asset management, you will be responsible for financial management practices aligned with Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards and guiding principles.
Following are the key responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
• Develop and implement an IT asset management strategy aligned with the organization's goals, objectives, and EA standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish policies, procedures, and guidelines for effective asset management and financial practices that adhere to EA governance and principles.
• Work with IT Leadership to define IT Vendor Management framework and templates.
Asset Lifecycle Management:
• Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to retirement, including software assets, in accordance with EA standards.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure accurate tracking of asset acquisitions and maintain an up-to-date inventory.
• Establish processes for asset deployment, maintenance, upgrades and decommissioning.
Software Asset Management:
• Implement software asset management practices to track licenses, usage rights and compliance.
• Collaborate with technology owner and software vendors to optimize license agreements and ensure compliance with software usage policies.
• Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or potential risks in software asset management.
Financial Management:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and platform optimization in the budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of IT assets, contracts and costs.
• Ensure cost optimization through effective budgeting, forecasting, expenditure analysis, and vendor contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with finance teams to track costs associated with IT assets and identify areas for cost reduction or optimization.
• Provide IT VPs support in tracking and managing contracts, IT assets and lifecycle management costs.
Team Leadership:
• Lead a team of asset management and financial professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations, mentorship programs, and training initiatives to develop employees' skills.
What you bring
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, finance or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in IT asset management or related roles within large organizations.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (hardware, software) and licensing models.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 19770 for Software Asset Management (SAM).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams in a complex organizational setting.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
