Our Procurement Team has a significant fiscal impact on the organisation; reliable suppliers, on time supply, competitively priced, delivers greater profitability to our business.
Your Role
Based out of our Sydney HQ, Sydney Olympic Park, on Wann-gal land, or our Melbourne office, on Wurundjeri land, lead a diverse team to deliver best-in-class, competitive suppliers, considering local and global offset requirements, that enable business success.
• Drive results via requests for proposals and negotiations with suppliers
• Establish and communicate annual targets for the Regional Procurement Centre
• Provide leadership, business partnering and strategic direction to the Procurement Managers that sit inside business units, to ensure coherence of procurement initiatives across Thales and rationalised supplier panel.
• Provide people leadership, performance and development to your team.
• Ensure harmonization of tools to align with global structure and reporting.
This role is highly visible in the organisation and has touchpoints with several other key functions (Bid, Programmes, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Legal & Contracts, etc). We offer multi-faceted careers at Thales and depending on your strengths and aspirations, this role could lead to many alternate career paths, across Operations, Quality and Program leadership. Travel will be required in this role, predominantly domestic.
Your Experience
Procurement experience is necessary; you need to understand the general flow of the procurement process and contract savvy. We see you leveraging this expertise to champion continuous improvement and introduce efficiencies to our Thales team.
• Our teams are spread across Australia, the work they do is diverse and thus their demands vary, navigating this complexity is challenging.
• You’ll need strong relationship and stakeholder management capability and wield it from day one!
• A knowledge of the Australian defence supplier landscape would be an asset but we will lean in to facilitate knowledge transfer.
