Lead Engineer - Generative AI Product Engineering (Remote-Eligible
Are you passionate about using AI to make banking better? At Capital One, our mission is to create trustworthy and reliable AI systems that bring simplicity and humanity to banking. We are looking for an experienced Lead Generative AI Engineer to join our team and help build APIs and SDKs to train and access AI models at scale. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of world-class AI engineers and researchers to create real-time customer-facing applications.
Here are some projects you will work on:
• Architect, build, and deploy core APIs and SDKs for training and fine-tuning AI models
• Design APIs for performance, real-time applications, scale, ease of use, and governance automation
• Develop application-specific interfaces to enhance the customer experience
• Enable users to build new AI capabilities
• Create tools and processes to monitor API access patterns and operational health
• Implement AI safety measures in collaboration with researchers
Basic qualifications for this role include a bachelor's degree in a technical field, at least 6 years of experience in data-intensive solutions, and programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with large-scale AI platforms, the ability to work in an agile environment, and experience with API security and cloud best practices.
