Our company is looking for a GIS Specialist to join our urban planning team. In this role, you will use ArcGIS software to gather and analyze data to develop maps. You will also conduct research to verify the accuracy of data and analyze spatial database information. This role is highly collaborative, but you should feel comfortable researching and drafting maps independently. We prefer applicants who have a relevant bachelor's degree and certification, as well as extensive experience in developing graphic information systems.
GIS Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze spatial database information
• Collect field data from clients and through observation
• Develop custom and standard maps
• Prep maps for implementation
• Develop and maintain GIS databases
GIS Specialist Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems, cartography, computer science, or a related field
• GIS certification a plus
• Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software products
• Experience scripting in Python
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
