Our Team: We operate a ‘hub and spoke’ model for digital. The Data team supports business units across strategy, innovation, product, commercial, marketing. We are Subject Matter Experts and platforms owners for consumer data, eCRM, analytics & business intelligence. The Focus of the Role: Integrate, maintain, develop and continually improve the data & analytics architecture and pipelines we have built in-house that support nearly 500 users, over 200 well known and respected magazines & radio stations; containing diverse sources that once blended, tell a story for our brands and consumers all in one place. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in both the UK and Germany to support SEO, Advertising, Affiliate Content data products that underpin our strategies for 2024 and beyond. • Build out and develop data pipelines, processes and products to support key projects and workstreams across Affiliate & Ads for UK & Germany using cloud services from Google (GCP) and Amazon (AWS). • Work across diverse brand offerings and data platforms that cover digital content, registration, advertising, eCRM and web analytics. • Help us close the loop on audiences' behaviour across our portfolio of sites, their consumption of our content, affiliate offerings/partnerships and enable us to drive growth in existing and new areas. Core to role: • Expert in SQL (Postgres, Cloud SQL etc) and experienced in using R or Python to build, maintain and orchestrate data pipelines across a business. • Confident working with API’s and coding/scripting pipelines to surface and transform this data into analysis friendly assets using technologies such as BigQuery or Amazon Redshift. • Data engineering excellence, ensuring not only is data integrated but it's available, reliable, and accurate. • You will need to be a problem solver with a flexible attitude to managing projects, and senior stakeholder engagement. Nice to have or know: • Experience with BI Platform, Looker or Power BI, an advantage. You will curate end user reports using ‘LookML’ - Looker’s language for describing dimensions, aggregates, calculations and data relationships. • Web analytics technologies such as Google Analytics (GA4 or UA360) / Firebase to design end to end data solutions that deliver comprehensive digital insights. • Cloud databases, use of RedShift and/or BigQuery, how best to optimise queries, streamline costs an • Ad tech support, ad partners, metrics and revenue, pipelines and 1st party data imports. Experience in GAM, SSP/DSPs and DMP’s. What You'll Bring: • Passion for data of all shapes, sizes & volumes! • Understanding of value creation opportunities from use of data • Understanding and usage of SQL with both relational and non-relational data • Possess a high attention to detail • Resilience under pressure and at your best when there are lots of moving parts • Experience of developing data queries and creating highly effective insights • Understanding of one or more data scripting language such as Python, R or SQL or tooling relevant to the specifics of the role • Ability to communicate complex concepts and issues to non-experts Keywords Technical: SQL, Redshift, BigQuery, Python, API’s, Google Analytics, GA4, Cron, EC2, Airflow, Looker, GAM, Permutive, PowerBI.
