Echtra Games is looking for PRINCIPAL ECONOMY DESIGNER to join our growing team on a new cross-platform ARPG project. As a Principal Economy Designer, you will oversee, implement and tune the in-game economy while optimizing user experience. You will utilize methodologies of economics, behavioral psychology, and business intelligence to strategically design, launch, and maintain a healthy free-to-play cross-platform game economy. The economy systems you will build and manage are core to game progression, reward payouts, and overall game economy balance.

Main Responsibilities
• As a member of the Design team, you will own the in-game economy and will collaborate closely with Designers, Product Managers and analysts to devise the strategy for the game’s economy. You will be the point of contact and expert on the game economy, including features, live operations and pricing.
• Design and implement the economy aspect of features which create a fun player experience, further the strategic vision of the product and drive increased player engagement and monetization.
• Model, simulate, and tune the game’s economy. You'll model and tune complex game economy systems with multiple currencies, progression systems, sinks and faucets.
• Create flexible systems and data structure to allow for rapid iteration.
• Analyze the many facets of the game economy, player engagement and monetization data at a macro and micro level. Report on performance, identify issues and opportunities, and suggest ways to optimize.
• Keep up to date with market trends and do proactive analysis of economy tuning in relevant competitive products.
Requirements
• 5+ years of game design or product management experience with 3+ years focus on economy design.
• Collaborative and excels in communicating with product managers, analysts, designers and executives.
• Ability to balance multiple projects in parallel while delivering high quality work.
• Ability to model and simulate planned changes, anticipating downstream effects, and making adjustments prior to releasing changes.
• Detail-oriented and capable of providing specific solutions at each step of the process.
• Ideally loves playing ARPGs on different platforms
• Advanced understanding of Excel, SQL and/or Python.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $125,000 and $180,000 per year.
The pay range for this position in New York City at the start of employment is expected to be between $110,000 and $160,000 per year.
This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. The pay range for this position for applicants based in Colorado at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,00 and $140,000 per year.
However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
