Job Description:
Data and Analytics are foundational to our Petcare OGSM and will drive our transformation to a business powered by data.
To deliver on this ambition set by this OGSM, we require the highest level of technical / engineering expertise and leadership within Global Petcare Data & Analytics to work across divisional and ecosystem engineering teams to help deliver and support the platform and D&A best practices.
A focus on optimising the productivity of high-performing teams of creative, highly skilled individuals is required, as is the creation of a support framework to help drive them towards continuous improvement and consistent delivery of the petcare data mesh.
What are we looking for?
• An exceptionally high-performing principal-level engineer on the Petcare Data and Analytics Platform, helping build the Data Hosting foundations for a better world for pets.
• A creative leader, an example setter for all technical members of the direct team and other teams. a highly valued contributor in brainstorming settings
• A technical ambassador for the Petcare Data and Analytics Platform, engaging with other Mars technical teams and striving to collaborate towards enterprise architecture alignment
• Accountable for technical choices, design and frameworks implemented as needed across all areas of development within the Petcare Data and Analytics Platform in a multi-function team
• Build rapport with technical leaders and engineers across the Data and Analytics engineering teams, acting as a highly approachable enabler of technical innovation
• Coach and lead members of the platform function, providing final sign-off on DevSecOps and support strategy
• Mentor, coach and inspire engineers across all functions of the Petcare Data Platform engineering team, driving best practices
What will be your key responsibilities?
• Platform and segment-wide technical oversight of data platform and capabilities implementation in a cloud environment using a progressive tech stack
• Consolidation of design, engineering frameworks and technology choices across multiple projects and teams across Divisional D&A teams.
• Provide the highest level of advisory and hands-on technical expertise within the data platform engineering team and onboarding teams to produce valuable data products for use cases on the platform.
• Bring creative ideas to the table and leverage the ideas of others across a multi-function engineering team, making decisions to bring the best innovative ideas to market
• Use analysis and best judgment based on a breadth of technical experience to make critical & high-quality decisions on solution design and architecture.
• Enthusiastically promote the development of team expertise in new technologies and techniques across the platform.
• Oversee and take accountability for DevSecOps and Support methodologies across the platform.
• Provide innovative solution expertise across a complex tech stack, including big data processing, data modelling, web apps, visualisations, API and a diverse range of data storage technologies.
• Always apply a forward-thinking mindset when creating and working on frameworks and tools that will be utilised to create value.
