Role :
The ML team at Moz://a.ai is using cutting-edge research and industry-grade tooling to develop open-source technologies to support our mission. As a machine learning engineer, you will play a critical role in building, training, evaluating, deploying and monitoring large language models in this context.
Responsibilities : Build and deploy complex foundational models and data pipelines on our cloud infrastructure. Implement distributed training strategies well-suited for custom language modeling. Design and develop frameworks for experimentation and simulation. Assess and benchmark developments in the field at large. Collaborate cross-functionally across research, engineering and innovation as necessary. Employ best practices in terms of data, development, versioning and engineering to ensure reliability and reproducibility. Skills : Prior experience in natural language processing, including training, data pipelines and inference (ideally across varied tasks and use-cases). Proficiency with high-performance distributed ML systems in general and language modeling with transformers specifically. Passion for optimization and efficiency, extracting quality and performance wherever possible. Rigorous about maintaining documentation, writing design docs and logging experimentation. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage product managers, researchers, engineers and executives. Interest in trustworthy AI, and a deep passion for open source. Genuinely collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with a proactive attitude to support colleagues wherever possible.
