Seeking an experienced Network Engineer to manage and run banking network system, review restructure datacentres and dictate specifications required
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our IT Operations team based in Rhodes reporting to the IT Operations Manager.
You will solely manage the system and implement and direct to ensure best setup practice from previous experience. I am seeking someone that has the knowledge to setup their own data centre, I am not after someone who has done just network monitoring and worked in a structured setup network already established. I am seeking someone that can work out complex exact requirements and specify what they require having worked in highly complex environments previously where they have had to take ownership of the network.
You need to create, direct and implement and specify what is required. You must demonstrate this experience in your resume or I wont be able to call you.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day support, maintenance, upgrade and security across the network infrastructure as well as being involved in Project and Change delivery related to network services to our financial services client.
You are the sole one person managing and owning this network and there is no one else in the team, just you. You need to be confident in your own ability to manage the network on your own.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES:
• Provide expert technical services for network platforms and systems in response to incidents, problems, and changes.
• Oversee the management and maintenance of all network infrastructure and services including upgrades, patching & security.
• Design and implementation of network related products and services.
• Investigate and diagnose complex technical issues encountered with any Networking infrastructure & Services.
• Adhere to incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge across the areas of network infrastructure and security.
• Ensure security concerns are a consideration for all network infrastructure.
• Proactively highlight risks and issues with core networking infrastructure services and devices
• Automation of processes and procedures related to the management of network infrastructure and services
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• 10+ years’ experience working in a similar role within the IT Service Provider / Mid-Large corporate environment.
• Advanced experience with Designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting WAN/LAN technologies.
• Advanced experience with Designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting Firewalls, preferably Fortinet and Palo Alto
• Experience and solid understanding of Security and Compliance requirements in particular banking and finance sectors.
• Strong Experience with Load Balancers preferably F5
• Strong Experience with Designing, implementing, and managing IPAM and SIEM solutions.
• Experience with Datacenter Migrations
• Experience with scripting and automation such as PowerShell, python, terraform.
• Experience with configuring and managing networking monitoring tools, preferably SolarWinds.
• Ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions to both engineers and management, provide clear options and
recommendations.
