Job Overview We are seeking a Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Strategy professional to lead the design, implementation, and governance of our enterprise data management strategy. This leader will focus on ensuring accurate, trusted, and accessible master data to support patient care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and analytics-driven decision-making across a nationally ranked hospital system. This role requires a unique blend of data governance leadership, healthcare domain expertise, MDM technology execution, and cross-functional business collaboration. Key Responsibilities MDM Leadership & Execution Design and implement enterprise Master Data Management programs for critical domains: Patient, Provider, Employee, Location, Supplier, and Clinical Reference Data Establish and manage Golden Record creation processes including: Data matching, merging, deduplication, survivorship rules, and hierarchy management Oversee MDM platform deployment (e.g., Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG, or equivalent) Partner with clinical, administrative, and financial systems teams (Epic, Cerner, Lawson, etc.) to integrate master data into operational workflows. Enterprise Data Strategy Develop and execute a data strategy roadmap aligned with organizational goals in patient care, population health, supply chain management, and financial stewardship. Create a unified Data Governance Framework—policies, standards, and stewardship programs. Establish data quality KPIs and monitor ongoing data integrity. Collaborate with the analytics, clinical informatics, compliance, and technology teams to ensure data-driven transformation success. Governance & Compliance Lead Data Stewardship Councils to drive enterprise-wide data ownership and accountability. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, NCQA, CMS, Joint Commission, and other healthcare regulations. Manage metadata, lineage, and business glossary initiatives using tools such as Collibra, Alation, or Microsoft Purview. Team Leadership & Collaboration Build and lead a cross-functional MDM & Data Governance team, including data stewards, data quality analysts, and governance specialists. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, clinical chairs, finance, HR, supply chain, and IT. Drive change management initiatives to foster a data-first culture across the health system. Required Qualifications Experience/Skill Details MDM Implementation 7+ years leading Master Data Management programs, including platform deployment and process design Data Governance Leadership Proven success creating governance frameworks, stewardship models, and data quality programs Healthcare Industry Expertise Strong knowledge of patient, provider, claims, clinical, and supply chain data in a hospital or payer environment Regulatory Knowledge HIPAA, HITECH, CMS guidelines, ICD-10, HL7, FHIR standards Technology Stack Experience with MDM tools (Informatica, Reltio, SAP MDG), metadata management tools, cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) Interoperability Understanding Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner), CRM, ERP, and data exchange protocols (HL7, FHIR) Leadership Skills 10+ years in data leadership roles; capable of managing cross-functional teams and influencing at all levels Education Master’s Degree preferred (e.g., Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, Business, or related field) Posting version Role Overview We are seeking a Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Strategy professional to lead the design, implementation, and governance of our enterprise data management strategy.
