The specific responsibilities of a Head of Security Systems can vary depending on the size and structure of the organization, but generally include: - Setting the strategy and vision for the security systems, aligning it with the company’s overall goals and objectives. - Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of security systems, including access control systems, video surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems. - Ensuring the availability and reliability of the security systems, including implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans. - Managing the day-to-day operations of the security systems, including monitoring systems, responding to issues, and ensuring that all systems are operating at optimal levels. - Developing and maintaining documentation for all security systems and processes, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. - Ensuring the security and integrity of the security systems and data, including implementing security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and backup procedures. - Managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts for hardware and software. - Providing technical guidance and support to other members of the IT and security teams and working with other departments to ensure that the security systems are meeting their needs. - Staying current with industry developments and new technologies and making recommendations for upgrades and improvements to the security systems as needed. - Conducting risk assessments and implementing security measures to protect the company’s assets and infrastructure. - Participating in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing to ensure the availability and reliability of the security systems. - Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with hardware, software, and network systems within the security systems. - Ensuring that all security systems comply with industry standards and regulations, such as PCI-DSS and SOC. - Leading and managing a team of security systems engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure that the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to support the security systems. - Providing regular reporting and updates on the status and performance of the security systems to senior management and stakeholders. -Powered By
