Thales Avionics Services Worldwide is responsible for the support and services of avionics aftermarket products and services within the airline industry. In October 2016, AvioVision was acquired by Thales and renamed AvioBook. With that acquisition Thales is able to extend its Electronics Flight Bag offer, ranging from full systems to state-of-the-art applications. The combination of Thales and AvioBook capabilities are developing digital solutions for airlines with a broad range of operational applications, leveraging Thales’ expertise in avionics, airborne connectivity, data analytics and ground support platforms.
We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our team as we grow our business and satisfy our customers. With extensive experience in software and hardware, our innovative solutions maximize the efficiency of aircraft and their crew. As part of a global team, this Singapore-based position is essential to our global strategy as we anticipate and execute growth objectives worldwide.
Responsibilities:
• Creates, defines, analyzes, and maintains overall System requirements of the Infrastructure between the AvioBook software and the customer’s systems.
• Review and maintain documentation and processes coupled and related towards the deployment process to ensure correct and efficient upgrades of customer related information systems.
• Help the team to analyze Infrastructural and technical requirements and execute defined tasks.
• Available to support and troubleshoot overall system installations and upgrades.
• Contributes to the support of the AvioBook software development teams by providing documentation and expertise when required.
• Must be able to evaluate internal and external documentation in order to gather knowledge and build upon the functionalities of AvioBook software and related integration elements.
• Available for third line support out of office hours for mission critical incidents on a non-frequent base.
• The Operations Engineer can be customer facing (mainly internal & to a lesser degree external), and he/she must be able to keep communication lines open and clear
1. External customers are airlines and their internal teams as well as external entities include data suppliers such as Flight Planning Providers, Weather providers, etc.
2. Internal customers include the Product Development Team, Integration Team, and the Support Team. You will be part of the operations team.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or in a related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
• A passion for software infrastructures and ability to meet changing deadlines, anticipate issues and engineer infrastructure solutions that meet end-user requirements.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration systems like docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with infrastructural cloud providers like AWS
• Experience with infrastructural provisioning as code (Terraform, openTofu, Atlantis)
• Experience with operational automated roll-out processes like Ansible, ArgoCD, Helm, Bash.
• Understanding about MySQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ.
• Experience with monitoring platforms like NewRelic
• Experience with Linux OS
• Understanding about complex cloud-infrastructure architecture, high availability, multi regions, fail-overs, DRPs Backups
• Understanding Enterprise infrastructure systems and knowing how to apply them is considered a plus

• Working Location: One North
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm
• Rotating 12-hour On-call shift will be expected
• Incumbent will need to attend a 3-4 weeks initial training in Belgium
